Visiting colleges, taking part in an information session, attending virtual tours, and engaging with both past and current students can provide an opportunity to learn about different kinds of colleges and universities. Families should try to see (both in person and virtually!) a variety of schools as this will help students articulate their individual search criteria and discover what places feel like a good fit. While learning about a college, talk to as many people as possible and ask key questions to help get a solid understanding of the place. This includes admissions representatives, current students, professors, and any other community members that may be a resource (i.e. coaches or financial aid of icials). As you explore different colleges and universities, remember to ask yourself if you could see yourself attending this school.
